This is not a love story. This is the in-between of loss and love. This is the side of things that are not as pretty as an idyllic romance. "Ghosts" is marked by the time of healing. It makes an endeavor to capture the monotony, the mental inconsistency, the pain, and the revelations of the time between lovers. This is not a love story, this is a truth.

Quinn finds herself in a position to confront the distinctions between past idealism and present realities when she meets Luciana, the girl that contrasts it all. Even through meeting Luciana, old, self-deprecating habits die hard. Through trial and error, she learns that she has to make peace with the ghosts of her past. She cannot let them plague her mind, her actions, or her body. She needs to create her own closure to officially begin to heal. Because if she doesn't, they will certainly come back to haunt her. She also learns that it is easier said than done.

This is a 8x5.25 book with 251 pages.

“I got Ghosts a little while ago and just got around to reading it today. And when I say that, I mean I literally picked the book up today on my break at work and when I got home, I read the rest of the book in one sitting. I’ve just flipped to the last page and I’m just so in awe of your writing. That book led me on an emotional roller coaster that I’d be glad to ride again when I undoubtedly reread it. It was a great book and you definitely have me in your corner when it comes to your future works. You’ve got real talent, Kara.” - B

The character development was really inspiring, and I like how you kept it realistic. And, something that really stuck out to me was how honest it was. That’s what always drew me to Ghosts; the honesty. Quinn had spent pretty much the entire story lying to herself, along with those around her. The second she stopped bullshitting and lying to herself, that’s when she began to truly heal. It really teaches that there’s so secret recipe for getting over someone or healing.. You can try meditating, crystals, painting.. You can check out the entire self-help section of a library, but if you’re not 100% honest with yourself, you never get anywhere.” “See, the thing I love most is that it gives me mixed feelings. I remember feeling so fucking annoyed with Quinn in the book. like.. it was so clear how Sydney felt, and Quinn was so caught up in her fantasy that she couldn’t see, when it was right in front of her. That annoyed me, and not even gonna lie, sometimes i wanted to stop reading. But that’s how you know you’re reading a really great book. When the characters affect you so deeply that you want to chuck the book across the room. I had mixed feelings because I felt so connected her. And let me tell you, i never feel compelled to reach out to random strangers to tell them how much I love their writing, but I didn’t really have a choice with you. I’m so happy you published this.” - A
